When I first joined Global Health Innovations, I was inspired by its vision to help women and children affected by HIV. I was excited to use my skills in health research to make a difference in their lives. Working with data and making impactful decisions became my passion. One day, a young woman came to our clinic, and we discovered she was HIV positive during her first ANC visit. She was heartbroken and embarrassed. I assured her that everything would be okay, but she disappeared for weeks, ignoring our calls and reminders. Then one day, she was rushed to the hospital for delivery. I recognized her immediately and talked to her. Despite her initial resistance, we managed to get her and her baby on medication. Unfortunately, the baby tested positive for HIV. It was a devastating moment, yet it became a turning point for the mother. From then on, she never missed an appointment or a call. Every time she received a message from us, she would confirm she had received it and would come on the said date. Although it was regrettable that her change of heart came after such events, her baby is now 3 years old and very healthy. This story serves as a reminder of the import犀利士 ance of the work we do at GHI. We are not just providing medical assistance, but we’re also offering hope and care to those who need it the most. It’s a journey filled with ups and downs, but it’s worth every step knowing the impact we’re making in people’s lives.
