Clarice Anyango
My name is Clarice Anyango Odhiambo, a dedicated worker at Global Health Innovation Foundation Kenya. I was initially drawn to GHI Kenya because of the support and care they provide to mothers living with HIV. I felt a deep passion to motivate these women through counselling and education, despite the challenges they faced. My goal was to learn more about their care and treatment and extend my help to those who needed it. One of the most significant impacts I’ve made was with a newly enrolled expectant client who was struggling with stigma and was not ready to start medication. I formed a close bond with her, even making home visits, until she accepted her results and started medication. Today, she is healthy, and her baby is sero-negative. This experience was a testament to the power of dedication and compassion. Over time, I’ve seen GHI Kenya grow and evolve in its mission. We’ve provided tokens for clients to use as transport to the facility and ensured that necessary equipment was available for continuity of care. We’ve also sent reminder messages that motivated them to keep going. Looking towards the future, I see an organization that continues to positively impact the lives of many people living with HIV. With the passion I have in my work as a healthcare provider, I am committed to being a part of this transformative journey. The road ahead may be challenging, but the rewards are immeasurable.
